If you get your autographed item authenticated locally, you're probably wasting your money. They will charge you the same or more as world recognized authenticators however the documentation they give you will not be recognized by serious buyers including all the major auction houses. I recommend world recognized 3rd party authenticating and grading companies (which DO NOT sell their own merchandise) on high value collectibles. Choose the company that attains the highest auction prices for the same or similar item. Below is the list of authenticating professionals I use or recognize.
PSA Autograph authentication
